First, let me thank the voters of Shelby County for having the confidence to elect me as your Assessor of Property.

As the newly elected Shelby County Assessor of Property, I am committed to build on a proven foundation of establishing fair and equitable property values. I am also commited to improving our relationship with the taxpayers of Shelby County. I wish to enhance our community programs to assist with understanding our processes and procedures.

As Assessor, I am required to locate, classify and appraise all taxable property according to the laws of the State of Tennessee. This includes conducting a countywide Reappraisal every four years; our next Reappraisal is scheduled for 2021.

I am dedicated to providing the people in Shelby County with the information they need to understand the Reappraisal process as well as their rights and responsibilities as property owners. Our Web site was created to provide complete access to our assessment records as well as a comprehensive explanation and description of the Reappraisal process.
